usc SUMMER: guitar seminar
After I graduated with a Masters Degree from The USC Thornton School of Music Studio/Jazz Guitar Department, they hired me back to design and direct this class. This intensive four week seminar is designed to prepare high school guitarists for successful college and professional careers. We have a very high success rate of our graduates matriculating into USC as well as other prestigious music programs such as New York University, The Berklee School
of Music and The University of Miami.
Faculty and guest artists include Bruce Forman, Pat Kelley, Tim Kobza, Frank Potenza, Richard Smith, Nick Stoubis, and Steve Trovato.

This seminar is a condensed USC Thornton School of Music Contemporary Music Division guitar performance course that focuses on jazz, rock and classical repertoire, as well as sight-reading, theory, improvisation and technique. Our instructors are from the Studio/Jazz and The Popular Music Departments. The seminar includes classroom and ensemble/performance settings.
Credit: 3.0 units of USC credit
Prerequisites: Audition mp3 (see guidelines)
Meets Monday through Friday, 9:00am – 4:30pm
